I Don't Like Mondays

Tue Jun 30, 2009, 4:30 PM
I didn't know until a month ago that the phrase "I Don't Like Mondays" was connected to a 16 year old who shot up an elementary school. When the police asked her why she did it, she said "I don't like Mondays. It was something interesting to do." If I'm a victim of mass violence, I hope it is the purpose is as inane as hers. It would at least give me comfort to know I was wounded/died in an act that defied reason, and therefore was at least a little bit funny/entertaining.

Madison is not turning out well. I graduated without a job, and lo and behold two weeks later I am still jobless. I've had two interviews, but rejected for both jobs. Fuck. I got drunk once, so that was nice. I went over to Sascha's and Dave's, drank half a fifth of whiskey and some beer. I guess I said "Fuck this, I'm going to the Inferno (a dance club) to get some pussy!" and stumbled out of the house. I didn't know exactly where the inferno was, but I ended up downtown in some bar talking to a dude about LARP. That's about as far away from getting some pussy as I can get.

Other than that, post-graduated life is a downer. I have a little over 2 grand left to live on until I am out of money and have to return to Michigan. But I wanted to use as much of that money to save towards graduate school. I need to go back to Academia. I've been out of it for two weeks, and I already want back in. A year or two without it seems nigh impossible.
